KNow Research’s AI/ML Policy
KNow Research’s mission is to push ourselves and the industry forward through authentic connections. While we believe in a human-first approach to achieve this vision, we embrace innovative technologies to support our efforts and enable exploration. That exploration has led us to developing an AI/Machine Learning company policy to guide our work with generative AI tools.
As an organization, we commit to upholding the following policies in our use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) tools:
- Human-Centric: We employ AI/ML systems to support – not replace – our expertise and the power of human intelligence.
- Data Privacy: We prioritize the privacy and security of our clients’ data and participants’ personally identifiable information (PII) by only utilizing AI/ML systems with robust safeguards that do not search the internet or use personal data input to train models.
- Transparency: We clearly document our AI/ML usage and processes. We provide our clients and partners with comprehensive information about how data is being handled and protected and how AI/ML output is used in our work.
- Vetted Platforms: We review and vet all tools and platforms – whether AI-enabled or not. We manage the use of AI features, ensuring they are leveraged in accordance with our outlined use cases and our clients’ preferences and/or requirements.
- Quality Control: We carefully review and revise all AI/ML outputs and hold them to our high-quality standards.
- Ongoing Trainings: We conduct regular, mandatory training to ensure proper understanding of approved platforms and use cases.
- Security Compliance: We follow a clear escalation process for potential breaches, adhering to our Written Information Security Plan (WISP).
- Adherence to Industry Standards: We follow the fundamental, overarching principles of ethics and professionalism for the profession and industry set forth by the Insights Association.
- Adaptive Policies: We regularly update our AI/ML policies to maintain the highest data protection standards as technology evolves.
